The University of Toledo (UT) is a public metropolitan research university renowned for its beautiful, scenic campuses. Located in Toledo, Ohio, it is a student-centered institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
Established in 1872, the university became a member of the state university system in 1967. In the summer of 2006, it merged with the Medical University of Ohio to create the state's third-largest public university operating budget. .
Today, UT is one of 14 state universities in Ohio, and its primary mission is to 'improve the human condition'.
It offers more than 300 undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, across law, engineering, business, and occupational therapy among its nationally ranked programs.
The University of Toledo Foundation will be guided by its commitment to:
  • Integrity, respect and transparency..
  • Earn respect, trust and confidence of donors and the general public.
  • Have a long-term perspective and focus on growing a sustainable organisation.
  • Our mission, and that of The University of Toledo, is to improve the human condition.
  • A demonstrated desire to achieve excellence through innovation.

Campus

The main university campus has nine residential halls, a Student Recreation Centre, a gothic bell tower, an avant-garde classroom center in one of the buildings, the Memorial Field House, a football stadium, and a basketball and athletic complex.
Sporting the colours midnight blue and gold, university sports teams are known as The Rockets, a shortened version of ‘Skyrockets’, a name dating back to the 1920s.
Toledo is an industrial and entrepreneurial city known for its car assembly plants and glass manufacturing (hence its nickname ‘The Glass City’).
The campuses at UT offer 200 student organisations and art exhibitions, athletic games, theatre performances, and talks by public figures such as the radio host Robert F Kennedy Jr. and the author Toni Morrison.
A demonstrated desire to achieve excellence through innovation.

City Conditions

In Toledo, the summers are warm; the winters are freezing, snowy, and windy; and it is partly cloudy year-round. Over the year, the temperature typically varies from 19°F to 83°F and is rarely below 3°F or above 91°F. Based on the tourism score, the best time of year to visit Toledo for warm-weather activities is from mid-June to mid-September.

Housing

Apartment Guide has created a specialty apartment search for The University of Toledo to help students, faculty, and employees find the best off-campus living options. With a large inventory of multifamily apartments, students won’t have to waste their valuable time looking all over.
All first-year and second-year students who live outside of a twenty-five-mile radius from the university must live on campus and participate in the meal plan program. Living on campus allows students to focus on what matters most. Statistics show students who live on campus have higher grade point averages, are more involved, and have higher retention rates.
Conveniently located close to dining and classes, on-campus housing is a hassle-free, safe home to live with friends and enjoy the University of Toledo in students' backyard. As a student required to live on campus next academic year, we recommend students apply now so current residents can get the best choice of rooms on campus.

Indian student association

The Indian Students Cultural Organisation (ISCO) is a non-profit organisation for all students from India, of Indian descent, or interested in Indian culture. It has been given the Best Student Organisation Award consecutively from 2001 to 2004 and the 3rd Best Student Organisation Award for 2014-2015. Our primary objectives are to promote service and leadership opportunities and create an environment where students of different backgrounds can bond over our beloved culture. For our many international students, we know how tough it is to travel to a new country, thousands of miles away from home, and to settle down in American culture, as well as feeling homesick from all your friends and family back home. Our Indian-American students understand how important it is to find people like you who understand the balance of being both American and Indian and making sure you still stay connected to your heritage. We endeavour to complement student academic programs and enhance the overall educational experience of students through their participation in social, cultural, intellectual, and recreational activities. Our organisation tries to spread the word of “togetherness” by bringing one community to share Indian culture, regardless of gender, race, orientation, etc.

Information Technology

I am often reminded of a quote the movie AVATAR by James Cameron

“Every person is born twice. The second time is when you earn your place among the people... forever”.

This resonates with my passion for teaching. During my earlier years, I was always surrounded by wonderful, aspiring, helpful people who always aimed in serving humankind without expecting high rewards. Their rewards were the feeling, thoughts and positive witnesses for their work. This vision made me decide Teaching as my profession without giving a second thought of industry as the ladder for growth which generally people assume. To pursue my dreams, I initially started taking up tuitions along with my Bachelor in Computer Application; this is when I was fascinated by teaching as I helped my friends in understanding and completing the course and was met with lovely praises. Further my Master Course in Information Technology from K.C College Churchgate gave a seamless approach. It taught me, through planning and action, which I still implement in my work and always share the same mantra with my students:

“Aiming for the goal is not everything but planning for the same is a must.”
