About University of Greenwich

The University of Greenwich was founded in 1890, previously existing as Woolwich Polytechnic and Thames Polytechnic before being granted university status and renamed in 1992. Situated on the banks of the River Thames, the university’s main campus is in what was the Old Royal Naval College – a UNESCO World Heritage site in Greenwich, southeast London. The University of Greenwich has three attractive, historic campuses in London, Medway and Kent. The university is home to a diverse community of nearly 28,000 students studying in the UK and overseas, one in five of them are postgraduate. Campus

The University of Greenwich is based in London and Medway. You can reach our campuses by car or via public transport (including bus and rail), with easy connections from airports in London. The largest of their three campuses, Greenwich Campus sits on a World Heritage Site on the banks of the River Thames. It is centered on three baroque buildings designed by Sir Christopher Wren for the Royal Navy at the end of the 17th century.
